Janus Henderson Investors
Janus Henderson Investors was formed from the merger of Denver-based Janus Capital Group, Inc. and London-based Henderson Group. Following the merger, Janus Henderson Investors engaged Acquilano for extensive programming and workplace strategy. Working globally to understand differences, and similarities, Acquilano was charged with designing a local solution that would meld corporate culture, image, real estate strategy, and workplace standards. While the companies are a natural fit for one-another, geographic trends in workplace posed unique opportunities to re-evaluate best practices.

The Summit
Named for the 14er climbing competitions rooted in the culture of Janus Henderson Denver, The Summit area was designed to embody the spirit of the Denver office culture and to nurture relationships for both personnel and clients. The space provides a fully stocked marketplace, varied flexible furniture settings of differing levels of privacy with a warm, textural and inviting aesthetic.
“This space has the ability to quickly transform from bustling workplace by day, to formal Boardroom dining setting by night. The Summit has quickly become the pulsing heart of the workplace! “
– Ashley Stinson, Acquilano
“Over our 18 month long project, we feel like Acquilano has become part of our corporate family. The design team has a talent for creating spaces that people want to experience and their dedication to getting things right makes them valuable partners through the design and construction process.”
– Carrie Newman, Director of Workplace Resources, Janus Henderson Investors
The Marketplace
During the early project-stages, workplace strategy sessions were held with employees. It became evident the neighborhood did not offer grab-and- go options for snacks and meals. By thoughtfully designing and locating a micro-market within the Summit Area, employees can conveniently grab a bite to eat, something to drink, and engage with colleagues outside the formality of a conference room.
Perfect Views
An extra-wide sliding glass window system opens up the Summit Area to the rooftop space with western sky views, outdoor lounge seating, and cozy fireside conversations, further expanding the flexibility of the space to be used for town hall meetings and company gatherings.
“Our employee lounge and rooftop area could compete with any rooftop space in Cherry Creek… and win! We’ve had requests to host events, TV shows, and even a wedding. I’m proud when our clients and guests come to visit, but I’m even more proud of the incredible amenity we now have to offer our employees every day.”
